Deseret News Just Doesn't Get It

Being compared to Baghdad Bob is a lose-lose situation, sort of like being an accused rapist, but I'll try to explain reality to these people.

1. Private Fuel Storage is not "falling apart." Orrin Hatch is reading far too much into contingency plans and is treating letters from three years ago reaffirming commitments made in 1997 or earlier as news. Some participants were supposed to provide financing during the early stages of licensing and the inevitable litigation, which are always the hardest and costliest, and some agreed to pay operating costs.
2. This is not dangerous. It has about as much of a chance to dissolve in groundwater as your kitchen plates. Even then, there is doubt that it could ever reach toxic levels anywhere, much less that it would.
